2. (Med.) Designating, or pertaining
to, a certain class of diseases. See Zymotic disease,

Zymotic disease (Med.), any epidemic,
endemic, contagious, or sporadic affection which is produced by some
morbific principle or organism acting on the system like a
ferment.
