(a) Any herb of the cruciferous genus
Lepidium, especially the garden peppergrass, or garden cress,
Lepidium sativum; -- called also pepperwort. All the
species have a pungent flavor. (b) The
common pillwort of Europe (Pilularia globulifera). See
